Cats Eye: a common type o f marble, usually made of clear glass, with distinctive colour patterns through the middle that give the marble a cat's eye appearance

Firing:  when a player flicks a marble out of their hand from a stationery position

Keepsies: a traditional marble game where players keep the marbles that they win

Knuckle Down: a type of shooting position taken by a player during a marble game

Marble: a small spherical toy traditionally made from glass or clay

Pee Wee: a term used to describe a marble that is smaller that the ordinary marble size


Shooter: a larger marble used to shoot with

Tombowler: the largest marble in the alley bag, used to blast components marbles out of the circle!

Semi-bowler: a larger marble, but smaller than a tombowler
